Swaddle Baby

When I stumbled across BeccaMarie's tutorial for a swaddle baby, I knew I had found not only the perfect gift for my just-turned-one-year-old niece, but also another idea for Operation Christmas Child boxes! It's a little more involved than the Nubbie dolls, but it's still pretty simple. I made it more complicated by adding arms.

BeccaMarie also has a wonderful tutorial on how to paint the face. I went with a more anime style eyes but I think I'll try the smaller, round eyes next time.
See the cute little arms? I totally cut those out free-form and they turned out great. I don't recommend doing that, but it worked this time.
The back.
And the layers still separate!
If you haven't done yarn hair before, then BeccaMarie also has an awesome tutorial for that! I've looked all over the internet for simple tutorials on sewing on doll hair and this is one of the best I've seen. :)

Hope this gives someone some good ideas for crafting!

  1. Super super super super cute!
This post made me smile so big! Thank you for the shout out!
And my my my! I love those cute little arms. I never would have thought of that! Also, I'm in love with the fun fabric you chose and the cute little neck ruffle. I'd love to share these photos next time I post what readers have made (which, sadly, I hardly ever get sent).
By the way, I read through some of your posts. I hope you don't feel pressured to craft just to blog. That pressure feeling is the pits. I absolutely love the freezer paper tee you made with your daughter. I haven't done much freezer papering, but maybe I should give it another go.
Also, your 'simple' burp cloths are stunning! Wow, I just love the assortment! And the chenille put me over the edge :)

    1. Thank you! Feel free to share these photos. I always love seeing variations of projects, that's why I took the time to post these. :)

As far as the pressure to blog goes, you can see that I've hardly posted this year. I started the blog to just share projects (mostly with my mother--lol!) and now it's back to that. It's much easier that way.

Glad I could give you some ideas for crafting! It certainly is fun. I love having the internet to share these ideas and gather new ones. :)
